About the Program

The International Summer Courses are aimed at students and other interested individuals who want to immerse themselves in German culture for four weeks and improve their German language skills. German courses are offered at levels A2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). In addition to expanding and deepening vocabulary and grammar, pronunciation training, and listening and reading comprehension exercises, participants will particularly develop their spoken and written communication skills. Topics related to German culture and society are also explored outside the classroom – for example, in a seminar at Hamburg City Hall. Participants experience the country and its people through Hamburg’s rich cultural offerings and excursions, applying their newly acquired language skills in real-life contexts. At the end of the course, they will receive a certificate.
