The International Master in German as a Foreign Language - German as a Second Language will enable you to perform scholarly work on the German language and culture as a foreign language and culture and to conduct linguistic and cultural comparisons. This degree qualifies you for upper-level and management positions in the field of teaching German language and culture in Germany and abroad, academic careers at universities, and working at publishing houses. The Department of German as a Foreign Language - German as a Second Language at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena is one of the top institutes of its kind in Germany. It offers a wide range of courses and high standards in both research-oriented and applied fields.
