About the Program

The interdisciplinary study offers a high degree of practice-oriented learning content, both in lectures and seminars as well as in excursions, field exercises and internships. It provides extensive knowledge about processes, dynamics and structure of our Earth system as well as the interactions between humans and the environment. The aim is to be able to independently develop geoscientific applications and overarching connections. Students can specialize in geology, crystallography, soil science, petrography, paleobiology and geochemistry or combine several of these specializations. The Bachelor's program lays the foundation for further scientific studies (Master's and doctoral studies).
