About the Program

Even Goethe's Dr Faust wanted to know "what holds the world together at its innermost core". The answers to this question can be found in the geology minor. In addition to acquiring basic geological knowledge about the Earth, you will learn to identify rocks, study the dymanics of groundwater and examine invertebrate fossils from the last 550 million years. The knowledge acquired during your studies will enable you to evaluate and analyse current issues in the context of environmental protection and nature conservation (e.g. climate change, biodiversity) from a geoscientific perspective. An integral part of the combined Bachelor's degree is the MarSkills programme, in which you will acquire valuable, future-oriented skills.
