Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

This flexible and practically oriented Master of Science programme in Geoinformatics introduces students to the academic fields of Geoinformatics and remote sensing. It is innovative in that it combines and integrates methods of Geoinformatics and remote sensing with basic science and shows how to use these in current national and international research projects. Students acquire a solid methodical foundation for the integrative analysis of landscape systems and the process-oriented evaluation of the spatially heterogeneous, natural potential of land as well as its anthropogenic cultivation. By allowing students to participate in ongoing research projects, they will have the opportunity to gain independent work experience from the conceptual formulation of a problem to the methodical realization of a solution and the synthesis and presentation of their results. Students may opt to take courses in either Geoinformatics or remote sensing or a combination of the two.
