Geodesy and Geoinformatics

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The Geodesy and Geoinformatics degree program deals with the measurement of the world using modern methods and instruments for collecting spatial data and its mapping. The program provides a balanced theory-practice ratio, covering GPS, augmented reality, machine vision, artificial intelligence and more. Geodesy forms the basis for precisely measuring the earth from individual plots to entire continents using modern satellite technology, sensors and digital maps. Geoinformatics ensures that the huge amounts of data generated are digitally processed, linked and visualized, often in 2D or 3D and with the help of artificial intelligence. The curriculum includes mathematical-physical foundations, IT and geoinformatics, surveying and geodetic sensor technology, photogrammetry, remote sensing and computer vision, geodetic reference systems and spatial methods, and cartography and land management. The program requires good knowledge of mathematics and an interest in data acquisition and processing.
