About the Program

In the "Gender Studies and Feminist Sciences" minor subject, you will acquire the fundamental knowledge of gender studies and the ability to work scientifically on your own, together with the appropriate methods. This minor course provides knowledge about the basic, central concepts, theories and methods of gender studies. Students are then able to grasp and systematically analyse gender relations throughout history and the present, their justifications, their manifestations, media representations and their changes, as well as the issues, conflicts and inequalities that result from them, through gender critical reflection. The degree programme also provides the interdisciplinary skills to expand and critically reflect on the knowledge acquired in your main subject through perspectives gained from gender studies. This gives you the opportunity to examine gender studies from the perspective of different disciplines. Social and social sciences, education, exercise and sports science, North American studies, theology and Study of Religion, cultural and literary studies, as well as history are available for you to choose from.
