About the Program

Graduates of the integrated study programme Mainz-Dijon in German Studies are granted two national degrees. The programme is based on a fixed bi-national course of study in German philology which focusses on literary studies, linguistics, and cultural studies. In a particular Franco-German module, all participants obtain intercultural competencies and reflect on the different education systems. It includes an intensive language preparation course, which helps students to successfully integrate into the partner system. Once students arrive at the partner university, they may benefit from diverse mobility grants for the duration of the stay abroad (ERASMUS+, Franco-German university network). Furthermore, they are exempt from tuition fees at the host university. The programme also includes an obligatory internship that allows the students to deepen their intercultural experiences as well as to take the first steps towards the creation of an international professional network.
