Evangelische TheologieProtestant Theology

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

Theology students can expect a diverse humanities education. In addition to the 'classical subjects' Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology and Religious Education, Religious Studies and Intercultural Theology are other main subjects. Special disciplines such as Biblical Regional Studies and Ancient Near Eastern Religious History, Christian Archaeology and Church Art, Eastern Church Studies and Church Law are also offered. Theology deals with Christian religion and faith in history and present. This includes interdisciplinary dialogue with natural sciences, pedagogy, psychology, media theory or art. Life in a predominantly non-denominational context and a culture in transition challenges questions of meaning and thus a new reflection on religion and faith. It requires well-founded knowledge and theological judgment to respond appropriately to social challenges.
