About the Program

This program prepares future teachers for teaching Evangelical Religion in gymnasiums (high schools). Students acquire the academic, didactic, and practical prerequisites for teaching the subject. The theology study includes 'classical subjects' such as Old Testament, New Testament, Church History, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology, and Religious Education. Religious Studies and Intercultural Theology are also main subjects. Special disciplines like Biblical Regional Studies, Oriental Religious History, Christian Archaeology, Church Art, Eastern Church Studies, and Church Law are offered. The program aims to develop theological judgment skills to respond appropriately to societal challenges. Students can choose Evangelical Religion as Subject I (95 credit points) or Subject II (90 credit points) and must combine it with another teaching subject.
