About the Program

The Bachelor's degree programme in European Studies: Comparative Literature is concerned with European literature, film, theatre and other media. The program examines how cultures shape Europe's perception in the world, as reflected in literature and arts since antiquity. Students gain understanding of European social and cultural developments while acquiring literary and media competence. The program focuses on cultural exchange within Europe and examines interrelations between European and non-European literatures and media. It includes an interdisciplinary core curriculum covering history, politics, law, economics, languages and geography. Students must complete a compulsory study abroad period and a work placement addressing European issues.
