About the Program

The Master of European Governance and Administration (MEGA) is a joint German-French qualification program initiated in 2003 by the German Chancellor and the French President on the 40th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty. The program was established in 2005 to prepare participants for European and international tasks. Since 2013, it has been offered in a part-time format with a new structure and a duration of two years. The content focuses on interstate cooperation and the European context, incorporating the professional experiences and needs of participants and their sending authorities. The program has been utilized by German and French civil servants as well as participants from other EU states and countries with EU accession prospects. The program is led by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior/Federal Academy of Public Administration (BAköV) and the French Ministry for Public Service, and is conducted through a German-French consortium partnership of governmental and academic partners.
