Ethik in der medizinischen VersorgungEthics in Medical Care

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

This valuable part-time Master's program at Dresden International University (DIU) is aimed at physicians and healthcare professionals. The program integrates theoretical learning content for the K3 trainer certificate of the Academy for Ethics in Medicine (AEM), which can also be taken separately. Participants deepen philosophical, theological, applied ethical, nursing ethical, and medical ethical perspectives together with the lecturers. They address clinical-ethical issues from the beginning to the end of life, including the legal framework, as well as organizational ethics with associated quality assurance. Management and personnel leadership with a focus on ethics in care are also subjects of the program. Aspects of diversity and digital transformation in healthcare have been included as focal points to sharpen the view of the requirements that have arisen through a multicultural, globally networked, digitized society. The program also addresses the tension between individual clinical-ethical perspective on the one hand and the perspective of public health ethics on the other. The theoretical teaching is always accompanied by a transfer perspective, and the examination formats will be correspondingly applied. Graduates of the program can be employed in staff positions or work in the conception and management of an organization and be responsible for ethical orientation, personnel development, and corresponding quality management.
