About the Program

The complex interactions between natural systems, human activity and technical systems shape our present and will shape our future. Students of the English-taught Master's degree program in Environmental Engineering (M.Sc.) learn to recognize, analyse, and shape these interactions with a focus on sustainability. The program provides a holistic understanding of the systems that environmental engineers deal with. Its subjects range from hydrogeology and hydraulic engineering, environmental geotechnics and environmental hazards to resource-efficient urban and sustainable mobility planning. The focus is not only on engineering, but also on economic and social dimensions. Students learn techniques for collecting a wide range of environmental data as well as methods for processing, visualizing and interpreting it. Graduates understand the relationships between natural, human, and technical systems and know how to influence them.
