About the Program

This program offers a close link between the sub-subjects of linguistics, literature and cultural studies. Students first complete a six-semester Bachelor of Education and Teaching, followed by a four-semester Master of Primary Education (Grundschule). Special emphasis is placed on the English Renaissance (with a focus on Shakespeare), "Late Modern English", construction grammar, English-language literature for children and young people, American literature and culture (including visual media), contemporary British culture and English vocabulary and its communication. The Master of Education degree is a prerequisite for admission to the period of school-based training called "Referendariat".
