About the Program

In the Teacher Training Programme in English, you will acquire basic knowledge and methodological skills in the subject areas of English and American Studies, English literature, language practice and English didactics. Central subjects are the scientific description and analysis of the English language, the scientific examination of the literatures and cultures of the English-speaking world (focus on Great Britain and North America) as well as the didactic teaching of the English language and its cultural area to children and young people. The standard period of study is ten semesters, including a five-month school placement semester in the fifth or sixth semester. The program follows the Jena model, requiring a total of 300 credit points (ECTS).
