About the Program

The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive academic education in continuation of the BA of the same name, but also in connection with comparable national and international Bachelor's programs, which, in addition to the development of subject-specific content, also includes in particular the critical and creative handling of subject-specific objects. The MA in English and American Studies thus opens up the possibility of a doctorate or of working in an academic environment. The knowledge and skills acquired in the MA should enable graduates to engage in lifelong learning at a high level of complexity and thus put them in a position to constantly adapt to new areas of activity in the face of changing demands on the job market. The MA program in English and American Studies prepares students for an academic career in the subject areas, theories and methods of English and American Studies with their specific interdisciplinary interfaces and thus also creates a qualification basis for other academic-related professional fields.
