About the Program

Educational Science focuses on the theory and practice of education and upbringing, as well as the prerequisites, conditions, and limits of pedagogical action. The program examines how people orient themselves and develop in social environments throughout their entire lives. Students analyze educational realities and ideas, reflect on educational facts and problems, and work on various tasks using relevant theories and methods. The focus is on adult education and social education/social management. This program does not train teachers or educators but rather pedagogical researchers. The minor subject can be combined with all major subjects offered at the University of Jena.
