About the Program

With the completion of the Master of Education Secondary schools, you will acquire an application-oriented, scientific professional qualification for working as a regular school teacher. On the basis of a corresponding Bachelor's degree, you will be prepared for the teaching qualification for two teaching subjects. You will gain knowledge of the general conditions of school and teaching on the one hand and develop skills that enable you to plan, carry out and reflect on subject- and school type-related processes of teaching and learning in a theory-based manner. In addition, you will supplement and deepen already existing subject-related content in your minor field of study and finally develop your professional "self" in the course of various internships, including class observation, planning and implementation. The program comprises 120 credit points divided into educational science area (30 LP), didactic field (36 LP), specialist scientific area (6 LP), complex school internship (30 LP), and master thesis (18 LP).
