Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The heterogeneity of genders, classes, ethnicities and religions goes hand in hand with a highly selective distribution of educational and development opportunities. It is becoming increasingly difficult to guarantee structurally fair and individually appropriate support. New challenges are constantly arising for pedagogical and professional practice, for which this Master's degree course prepares students. In addition to a broad range of subjects, Education Science offers Master's students the opportunity to get to know and participate in existing and developing fields of research. These include conflict and violence research, family and gender research, extracurricular educational research, school development and institutional research. The Institute of Education in Osnabrück is closely networked with the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) and the Lower Saxony Institute for Early Childhood Education and Development (NIFBE). Graduates qualify for managerial, planning and advisory activities in professional fields that deal with problems of education, integration and institutional change.
