About the Program

The graduate study programme Master of Education (MEd) in Economics completes the studies for secondary school teachers "Lehramt Gymnasium" and is the pre-requisite for admission to the teacher traineeship ("Referendariat"). The study of economics will provide students with the essential knowledge, methods and theoretical background in the areas of economics and business administration. Students will learn how to explain the basic concepts of modern economic theory and be able to follow economic policy discussions. The master's programme usually takes four semesters to complete. Students will be taking two major subjects as well as classes in educational science including a practical teaching semester.
