Early Childhood Education

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The Master's program "Early Childhood Education" is offered by the Ludwigsburg University of Education in cooperation with the Protestant University of Ludwigsburg. The program focuses on educational research and management as complementary areas of competence with individual focus: Students can either focus on management strategies and procedures or on educational research with specialization in one or two educational areas. A research workshop forms the center where topics of study are brought together and projects are developed, interdisciplinarily accompanied, implemented and evaluated in a research context. Both study focuses are research-oriented. The program prepares students for roles in shaping developments in early childhood education and opens up attractive career perspectives in areas such as specialist counseling for childcare facilities, management of projects and programs in early education, management functions with public and private providers, leadership of childcare facilities and family centers, further education of early childhood education professionals, and teaching at vocational schools for social pedagogy.
