Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The course of studies is geared towards the acquisition of scientifically founded professional competence in childhood pedagogy work settings. Students are prepared for direct educational work with children from their arrival at a children's day-care establishment up to the age when they leave. They are also trained for working with families, working in guidance roles, and in promoting networks in the social environment. During the course of studies, leadership competencies are acquired, which equip students to take on demanding tasks in multidisciplinary teams. Students acquire comprehensive qualifications in the sphere of research, which enable them to provide academic backup to education practitioners. The acquisition of knowledge on this degree course is interdisciplinary. It covers current findings from all disciplines and thematic areas relevant to development during childhood, and the support provided by public institutions. The course includes three practice-based phases: 15-day placement in the first semester; 30-day placement in the fourth semester; internship semester in the form of a 60-day placement with a training plan in the sixth semester.
