Dual-Subject Bachelor for Vocational EducationDual-Subject Vocational Education

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The bachelor's degree with a master's degree in vocational education is unique in Thuringia. It is offered jointly with the University of Erfurt on a consecutive basis. At the TU Ilmenau, you study two subjects in the bachelor's degree: one vocational subject - metal technology or electrical engineering - and one general subject: Mathematics. The Master of Education at the University of Erfurt then supplements this with educational science and subject didactic content. The goal of the program is to train you as a teacher at a vocational school: as a teacher of electrical engineering or metal technology at a vocational school, a technical high school or a vocational special school, or as a mathematics teacher at a vocational high school. Alternatively, after completing your bachelor's degree, you can go on to study for a master's degree in engineering at the TU Ilmenau, which will prepare you for a wide range of careers in industry and business.
