About the Program

This double degree Master's programme in "Marine Engineering" is a cooperation between Hochschule Wismar in Germany and “Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember” Surabaya (ITS) in Indonesia. Both universities have a superb international reputation and the highest standards in higher academic maritime education. By combining the strengths of both, the universities offer an outstanding programme for future executives in the field of marine engineering. The Master's programme is focused on the growing demand for maritime engineers in maritime hot spots like Indonesia, Asia and around the world. The Master's programme is a consecutive study and has a duration of four semesters. Two semesters (first and third semester) will be held at ITS Surabaya in Indonesia and the second semester will be held at Hochschule Wismar in Rostock in Germany. In the final semester, students can choose to study either at ITS or at Hochschule Wismar. As part of their studies, students will have developed in addition to technical skills also elementary intercultural competencies primarily between the European and Asian cultures. The graduates of the study programme in Marine Engineering receive the Master of Sciences degree (MSc) from Hochschule Wismar as well as the Indonesian degree from ITS Surabaya.
