About the Program
Digital Media is an interdisciplinary course of studies concerned with both the theory as well as the application of planning, conception, design, technical implementation and evaluation of interactive multimedial application systems. Studies integrate aspects of media theory, media engineering, media science and media design. Besides the general foundation courses, students can choose between two main thematic areas: The program Media Design offered by the University of the Arts Bremen focuses on artistic and design aspects of the field. Graduates are awarded the title Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Studies in Multimedia Engineering (Medieninformatik) are focused on the technical engineering aspects. Graduates are awarded the title Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). The six-semester Digital Media Bachelor program has a largely flexible structure. Initial compulsory basic courses are followed by advanced and specialized courses, the Bachelor Project (final project), and the Bachelor Report at the program's conclusion. It is compulsory to spend one semester studying abroad, usually undertaken sometime between the 3rd and 5th semester.
