About the Program

The Digital Film: Animation & VFX program forms the core of film education at Lazi Akademie. Over several semesters, students experience all steps of a professional production workflow. They develop not only technical expertise but also a deep understanding of how moving images tell stories, evoke emotions, and develop their full impact in combination with sound, light, and effects. The work process is project-oriented and highly practical. The curriculum is divided into three main phases: 1) Creative Development (story, concept & visual planning) where students learn storytelling, create moodboards, storyboards and visual concepts; 2) Implementation in Animation & VFX where students work on animations, VFX shots, camera movements and visual sequences using 2D and 3D tools; 3) Finalization, Sound, Editing, Presentation & Showreel where students learn post-production including editing, sound design, music, color grading and film export. The program is state-recognized and allows students to study without Abitur (high school diploma).
