Digital Business - Media economics and digital markets

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Today a social media presence and a website are a natural part of the communication of a company, a non-for-profit organization or a public institution. The business success of start-ups, medium-sized companies and industrial enterprises is also determined by the marketing of their products on digital platforms. Media managers play a key role in deciding which media are used from an economic perspective and how companies position themselves in terms of media. They apply their expertise in economics to media products and understand how a company must position itself in terms of communication in the competitive environment. The Media Management degree program, the only one of its kind in Germany, not only teaches you the classic fundamentals of economics, but also enables you to understand media markets, use PR content to achieve corporate goals, and design communication strategies. As a future media manager, you will decide which marketing instruments and channels are suitable for the respective company goals. You are familiar with media law specifics for Instagram, YouTube or TikTok and know how media content is produced. In the elective area, you can specialize further. You learn to develop and manage innovative products such as new apps, analyze sales markets or deepen your project management skills.
