Computer Science - Secondary Teacher Education

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

As a basic science, computer science deals with the investigation and classification of problems in terms of their computability. As an engineering science, computer science enables the machine simulation of real processes by designing mathematical machines with which data can be transferred, stored and automatically processed by algorithms. As an auxiliary science of other disciplines, computer science represents objects in abstract structures and processes in algorithms. The program is structured as a dual-subject Bachelor's degree (6 semesters) followed by a Master of Secondary Education (Gymnasium) degree (4 semesters). Students are required to choose a second subject in addition to Computer Science. The Master of Education degree is a prerequisite for admission to the period of school-based training called 'Referendariat' and subsequently for a career as a school teacher.
