About the Program

In the dual-subject option of the bachelor's degree program in Comparative Religious Studies students are taught the basics of religious studies methodologies and acquire the competence to apply this knowledge specifically to their occupational field or within a more research-oriented master's degree program. The required modules convey basic specialized knowledge, skills and methodologies. Students' knowledge of theories, methodologies and religious history is optimally complemented by concrete practical contacts with local religious communities. Such contacts enable students to explore specific religions individually and deepen their knowledge and understanding of them. Students set an area of focus for themselves by their choice of elective modules. The central objective is to provide students with basic knowledge of religious studies to enable them to continue in a research-oriented master's program or find a position using knowledge from both subjects of their bachelor's studies. This subject must be combined with a second subject.
