About the Program

The Master's program in Christian Studies is jointly conducted by the Institutes of Catholic Theology and Protestant Theology, which offer all module courses together as a mutually complementary teaching program. In this program, students acquire the necessary subject-specific and interdisciplinary knowledge, skills, and methods that enable them to work independently in scientific research, critically reflect on and further develop theological science, and enhance their observation and interpretation skills regarding the tension between religion and society. The successful completion of the Master's examination qualifies for doctoral studies and thus for an academic career. The program can also be taken as a part-time study with a standard period of 6 semesters.
