Master of Education (M.Ed.)

About the Program

This degree programme is unique as it is the only teacher training programme for Chinese in North Rhine-Westphalia. It does not require a B.Ed. degree, but is based on a bachelor's degree in Sinology. The M.Ed. programme is an important step towards later State Examination as a qualified teacher of Chinese at grammar schools and comprehensive schools. It provides the opportunity to specialise in fields such as didactic methodology of the Chinese language and modern Chinese. The program includes a mandatory internship, usually completed in the third semester with a duration of approximately 5 months. Studying abroad is also mandatory.
