Chemistry

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Chemistry aims to enable students to independently apply scientific methods in chemistry theory and experimentation. Building on the foundation laid in the Bachelor's program, where students acquire systematic knowledge and the ability to recognize interdisciplinary connections, the Master's program develops students' ability to work independently using modern scientific methods. Students must be able to recognize and describe complex chemical and medical-biological-chemical relationships. Additionally, students acquire general qualifications and competencies that prepare them for leadership positions in research and professional life. The research-oriented Chemistry track offers advanced training in the main chemistry subjects: Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Technical Chemistry, with elective studies starting from the second semester. The Medical-Biological Chemistry track includes the main subjects of Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physiology (partly in the Medical Faculty), with elective studies also starting from the second semester. Elective studies can be chosen from the B.Sc. Chemistry elective area, as well as from B.Sc. and M.Sc. Water Science, provided that courses already taken in the Bachelor's program are not repeated.
