About the Program

The Master's program in Chemistry at RUB offers students a challenging two-year program where they can create their personal study profile to deepen their interests and competencies for a successful international future. The program combines one of the most intensive practical laboratory training with first-class theory, helping students develop and implement independent solutions for future challenges. The entire program is taught in English and consists of elective and compulsory modules. In the first two semesters, students complete four of the six required courses in addition to their chosen courses and practicals. The third semester consists of elective courses and the focal point practical. By choosing courses, students develop an individual competence profile and special qualification for the future. In the fourth semester, students complete their studies with a Master thesis, applying the acquired subject and methodological competencies. Students can specialize in various fields including Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Technical Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Functional Materials - Design and Application.
