About the Program

Students will learn the systematics, terminology, and advanced topics in various sub disciplines of chemistry (inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry). They will also acquire the theoretical and practical skills required for conducting advanced work in the field. A number of specialisations are offered corresponding to the unique scientific profile of the Faculty of Chemical and Earth Sciences. The programme of study has a strong experimental focus. Students may select from a wide range of specialisations including Analytical Chemistry, Bioinorganic/Bioorganic Chemistry, Glass Chemistry / Material Chemistry, Energy Systems: Materials and Design, Macromolecular Chemistry, Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis, Spectroscopy and Imaging Processes, Synthesis and Drug Design, and Theoretical Chemistry.
