Chemistry - Energy - Environment

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

Energy and environment related issues are no longer far from our thoughts in our daily activities. Topics such as energy revolution, alternative ways of generating energy and energy-saving as well as environmental projection count among the most important scientific, social and economic challenges of the 21st century. The interdisciplinary study programme Chemistry-Energy-Environment trains specialist staff for Energy and Environmental Research. The students gain knowledge about professional systems, notions and additional contents in the three areas of electrochemistry and modern energy systems (e.g. batteries, solar cells, power-to-gas), sustainable and modern synthesis processes as well as environmental processes (e.g. systems for purifying air, water and soils and for keeping them clean). In addition, it imparts necessary synthetic, experimental and theoretic knowledge for this area. Students either train the entire spectrum or specialise by choosing from the broad range of elective modules.
