About the Program

The B.Sc. Chemie programme at the TU Darmstadt is designed as a broad basic study programme. The aim is to acquire fundamental theoretical and experimental knowledge and associated skills. The curriculum includes modules from general, analytical, inorganic, physical, organic, technical, macromolecular and theoretical chemistry as well as biochemistry, completed by courses from mathematics, physics, hazardous substances and methods. As Chemistry is a predominantly practice-oriented science, a large part of the studies takes place directly in a lab where students learn how to handle chemicals and equipment, or techniques in chemical synthesis and analytics. Apart from acquiring field-specific knowledge, the key objective is to enable students to think independently and act responsibly.
