About the Program

Chemical and Biological Engineering is a discipline of engineering that deals with the modification of substances through chemical, physical and biological processes. Acting as a link between chemistry, biotechnology, mechanical engineering and construction, it is the task of chemical and bioengineers to implement the processes developed on a laboratory scale on a production scale. The degree program builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor's degree program. Students learn advanced scientific methods and gain more in-depth knowledge of chemical and biological process engineering. The program allows students to choose their own areas of specialization and includes elective modules and supplementary modules, a three-week project development course, a twelve-week work placement in industry and a Master's thesis which is completed over six months.
