About the Program

Theology deals with the question of God and humanity. Catholic theology reflects on faith from the perspective of the Catholic Church as a religious community. The program covers four focus areas: Biblical Theology (Old Testament, New Testament), Historical Theology (ancient church history, medieval and modern church history), Systematic Theology (fundamental theology, dogmatics, Christian social studies, moral theology) and Practical Theology (religious education, liturgy, pastoral theology, canon law). The curriculum is complemented by courses in philosophy. This is offered as a minor subject and must be combined with a second subject. Possible career paths include: Speaker for organizations run by or affiliated with the Church, development cooperation, education, counseling, coaching, journalism, HR, positions at archives, libraries and museums.
