About the Program

This six-semester program is an interdisciplinary mathematics degree that integrates relevant courses from economics and computer science. The foundation of the program is a solid basic education in (Applied) Mathematics. Students gain solid knowledge in mathematical modeling and its practical implementation. The Department of Mathematics has taken into account the modern understanding of mathematics as a basic science and as a key technology in the design of this degree program. In the first two years, students receive a solid mathematical basic education with a focus on applied mathematics, complemented by interdisciplinary and practical components with courses in computer science, economics (business administration, economics) and business mathematical modeling. In the third year, students develop a specialization in business mathematics in optimization and/or stochastics (financial mathematics, statistics). The program includes introductory master's-level courses, a mathematical internship, and a bachelor's thesis.
