Business information systems cover an interdisciplinary field of business administration, economics and computer sciences, making business information systems an application-oriented field of computer sciences. Students of this program acquire competences from all subject areas. They understand information technologies and its fundamentals as well as business management objectives, strategies, functions and processes. The program focuses on Informatics. The first half of the program offers fundamentals in computer sciences, object-oriented programming, technical and mathematical basics, software technology, database systems, human-computer interaction, IT & project management, and business English, along with business administration, information systems, production, and management. The second half involves specialization in management and accounting, supply chain management and digitalization, business process management, digital marketing, IT law, and elective modules. The program includes a full-year software project in semesters four and five, a three-month practical phase in the 6th semester, and concludes with a Bachelor's thesis.
