Business Informatics

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Business Informatics is an interdisciplinary field that forms the interface between business administration and computer science. Its tasks include solving business management problems through the development and use of suitable information and communication solutions, as well as analyzing new information technologies with regard to their application potential for business practice. The importance of pure hardware and programming knowledge takes a back seat to the ability to design IT-supported solutions and implement them cooperatively in business organizations. In addition to the basics of information processing, studying business informatics therefore imparts analytical thinking skills in business administration. The practice-oriented study program offers the opportunity to acquire a professional university degree (Bachelor of Science, B.Sc.) after six semesters. The curriculum has a total scope of 180 CP and is divided into: Quantitative Methods (30 CP), Business Informatics (36 CP), Economics (36 CP), Computer Science (39 CP), General and interdisciplinary qualifications (12 CP), and Specialization (27 CP).
