About the Program

Modern brewing and beverage technology is a complex, interdisciplinary field that incorporates a wide variety of sectors. This includes the manufacture of beer and other beer-based products, brewing technology and the corresponding facilities and systems, and the further development of analytical methods to ensure product quality. The bachelor's study program offers both a well-founded and professionally-oriented education and preparation for a transdisciplinary field of work, which combines applications from engineering, such as metrology and regulation engineering, mechanical engineering, and thermodynamics, with natural sciences, such as microbiology, genetics, and chemistry. In this program students gain a diverse yet comprehensive knowledge of the biotechnological processes of malt and beer manufacture, as well as the technical principles for a comprehensive understanding of technical processes and relationships.
