About the Program

Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary and application-oriented science considered one of the key future technologies of our time. It is the integrated application of knowledge from biology, chemistry and process engineering with the aim of using cell cultures or their components in technical processes. The Bachelor's programme consists of compulsory courses in biosciences, process engineering, chemistry and physics, as well as compulsory electives for specialization in applied cell biology, applied molecular biology, or bioprocess engineering. The program includes practical lab work, key skills acquisition, and culminates with a three-month Bachelor's thesis.
