The Bachelor's degree programme in Biology equips students with a solid understanding of fundamental biological principles, as well as key competences. Topics covered include biodiversity and evolution of plants and animals, physiology and developmental biology as well as biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology. The Biology degree programme provides students with fundamental and specialised knowledge and ways of thinking, which can also be applied in other subject areas. Students are able to describe interconnections between subdisciplines of biology and between different levels of organisation in biological systems. Students are able to plan and implement their own teaching and learning. They are able to think analytically and critically and possess specialised and subject-specific didactical skills.
