About the Program

Biological Chemistry & Data Science is a new interdisciplinary science that stems from the closely related fields of chemistry and biology. It includes relevant areas from physical, analytical and organic chemistry and is mainly influenced by biochemistry and bioanalysis. The program involves developing new biological modelling and testing systems in addition to new chemical syntheses and techniques. The aim is to analyze and manipulate biological phenomena and structures in molecular detail. Alongside creating new methods of analysis, a major area of application is pharmaceutical active ingredient research. Graduates have a broad and application-oriented education in natural sciences and information technology. They find employment in industrial companies (in research and development, analytics, quality control, production, customer service), in research institutions, in academic research or in clinics and in the public administration sector. The program has a strong chemical and analytical focus, equipping students for working in professions involving analytical tasks in chemical, pharmaceutical and biological businesses.
