Biochemie MasterBiochemistry

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

Biochemistry is a science that investigates life processes in organisms using primarily chemical, physical, and molecular biological methods, thus determining the basic and application-oriented research in many areas of biology, medicine, and agriculture. The aim of the Master's program in Biochemistry (120 ECTS) is to consolidate theoretical and methodological knowledge in biochemistry and to acquire comprehensive knowledge in a specialized field. The program is designed to deepen the ability for systematic scientific work and to train logical-analytical thinking. The study should enable students to conduct biochemical-scientific research work largely independently. Students should be particularly enabled to independently identify and structure tasks, work on this basis and gain knowledge, collaborate with representatives of different disciplines in a community and problem-oriented manner, and apply basic knowledge in a practical way. The Master's program forms the prerequisite for a subsequent doctorate.
