About the Program

The Master's program in Vocational Education imparts specialized and interdisciplinary competencies for successful work in school and non-school vocational education and training. It develops competencies in a vocational field (agriculture, electrical engineering, information technology, or metal technology), vocational education, and a general education subject (German, English, French, Computer Science, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Spanish, or Sports Science). The program, in combination with a teaching internship, qualifies graduates for professional teaching in the vocational school system and also for non-school employment fields in vocational education. The four-semester program comprises a total of 120 credit points (including master's thesis with colloquium 18 credit points) and consists of three sub-areas: Vocational Education including school internship - 36 credit points; Vocational specializations (first subject) - 18 credit points; General education specializations (second subject) - 48 credit points. During the studies, practical study periods of six weeks must be completed.
