About the Program

The Bachelor's program in Vocational Education (Berufspädagogik) provides professional and interdisciplinary competencies for successful work in school and non-school vocational education and training. Students acquire competencies in a vocational field (Agricultural Economics, Construction Technology, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Metal Technology), Vocational Education, and in a general education subject (German, English, Protestant Religion, French, Sports Science, Philosophy, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Spanish). The program fundamentally qualifies for professional teaching in the vocational school system in combination with the subsequent Master's program and qualifies for non-school employment fields of vocational education. The program comprises a total of 180 credit points over six semesters (including Bachelor thesis with colloquium: 12 credit points) and consists of three sub-areas: Vocational Education - 36 credit points, Vocational Fields (first subject) - 90 credit points, General Education Fields (second subject) - 42 credit points. During the studies, practical study periods totaling six weeks must be completed.
