About the Program

The Master's program in Construction and Art History deepens and specializes scientific and practice-oriented qualification in the field of construction and art history. Along the three module areas "City and Architecture", "Art and Communication" and "Construction and Preservation", it focuses on central themes of the discipline. In a unique interdisciplinary constellation of different subject areas in Germany, students can acquire specialized knowledge on the historical development of architecture and art, technological and monument preservation aspects of building, and in the field of cultural management. Students have the opportunity to specifically deepen knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's program in these fields, to expand and consolidate methodological expertise, and to set their own priorities. The program enables the independent development of a critically reflected and well-founded methodological approach to architectural, artistic, construction, urban planning and monument preservation phenomena that is adequate to one's own research interests. The successful completion of the program qualifies for a broad field of activity depending on the individual content profile formation in the Master's program.
